Where Does the Time Go? Nearing 4 Months!

Lilah Update
Each month we have been taking pictures of you growing! It's amazing the changes you've already went through in the first 3 months!! We'll take your 4th this week!
Here is a photo of you in your coming home outfit and then a month later! Wow! I couldn't believe it!

You attended your first softball game at 17 days old! Here you are with Darren and Jamie! Go Bison!

Here are a few pics from your first photo shoot!  Compliments of our good friend, Hope!

Your first Easter was a success! You wore the most adorable dress, but even more important a huge grin that you have been sporting since week 6!

Mother & Father’s Day

Your daddy and I feel like the luckiest people in the world to have you as a daughter. We think you are just perfect and this Mother’s and Father’s Day we wanted to celebrate the arrival of you and how much your dad and I appreciate each other. I feel sooooo incredibly lucky to have your dad by my side. He is honestly the most caring, loving, thoughtful, and best dad/husband I could have ever asked for. You and daddy bought me a beautiful ring with your birthstone as well as a lovely pair of earrings. I haven’t taken the ring off yet. It’s such a sweet reminder of how wonderful the both of you are.
You and I went and picked out daddy a watch and then had a silver box engraved for him to keep it in. You also did a great job posing for pictures that we put in a frame for him for his office. He just loved it! We are so excited to celebrate many more holidays with you!

The Zoo
Your cousin Lyric just turned 7 and to celebrate her birthday we went to the zoo! You were so good! Your favorite part was the aquarium. You must take after your dad! You kept trying to follow all the fish. They were just a little too fast for your 2 ½ month old eyes. We hope to make many more trips!

Mommy and Daddy went on a Date

Your daddy and I celebrated our 4th wedding anniversary this summer! Lucky for us there are so many people who are anxious to babysit you! Grandma Kit and Papa John watched you while we went out on our date. You daddy and I went to Olive Garden (he loves it and I know it’s pretty quick so I’d be away from you for not very long). Then we went to see the movie, Maleficent. It was excellent! About 3 hours later we arrived to pick you up. Grandma said you were “pretty good” as long as you were outside. We’re finding that you are definitely an outside baby. Nature seems to sooth you. We are thankful you weren’t born in the winter! However, once you saw me, the bottom lip stuck out and you were soooo incredibly upset. Tears were flowing and it took me a good hour to calm you down before we could head home. I’m just happy that you’re too young to remember nights like this.

Nannying
This is my 6th summer working for a wonderful family in Bennington. The girls, Lauryn and Paige, are now 10 and 12 and are growing up to be such sweet young ladies. We have been fortunate enough to work on Mondays and Tuesdays and spend our day with them. You are having such a blast with them and they are teaching you some really cool things!

Shots
You were such a champ with your first set of shots! There weren’t any tears until we hit the 3rd one, but after a little cuddling and then rocking in your car seat, you were fine.

Rolling Over
The week of June 16th was a BIG one for you. Before this week, each time we laid you on your tummy you would scream into the floor and have no interest what so ever in lifting your head. Well, this week things changed. On Monday you lifted your head up! We were at the Christensen’s and we cheered you on!
Tuesday you decided it wasn’t enough to just lift your head and decided to get up on your forearms! Once again, cheered you on. Wednesday we were at home and laying on your tummy wasn’t enough, you rolled over to your back! I even got this one on tape! Thursday you had some valid attempts at rolling from your back to tummy, but it wasn’t till Friday that you succeeded! We couldn’t be prouder! However, now we can’t lay you down without you rolling to your tummy…this includes the changing table!

Play Dates
Lucky for us lots of our friends have and are having babies right now! We have had dates to the mall, garage sales, and home dates! Here are some pictures of Amanda and Colin and Abby and Lucas. They are both adorable boy!

Your Long Distance Boyfriend

Speaking of boys, you do have a long distance boyfriend. His name is Grayson and he is one month older than you and lives in Arizona. His mommy, daddy and I went to college together. You two text often. Here are a few of your conversations. His mommy and I have decided we will send you to the same college so you can meet, get married and have the cutest kids! We many be getting a bit ahead of ourselves.

Meeting Grandpa Mike
On a trip to Columbus you finally were able to meet your grandpa Mike! His big hands made you look so tiny! We are looking forward to going back to the farm to hang out with him more often!

The Bunny
Every child seems to have an item that they are inseparable from. Yours would be your pink bunny. This was a gift from my cousin Tyler and his wife Lauren (they are expecting their first baby this October!!!). This is the ultimate cuddle, soother, play item for you. And it is essential to have with you in the car seat.

Sleeping in Crib
Yah! You’ve slept two FULL nights in your crib! We’re pretty excited! It takes a little bit for you to go down, but you roll to your side, mouth open, breathing heavy and you’re OUT!

G Visits
Grete is one of my closest friends and it was almost 2 years to the day since I was able to see her. Luckily for us she stopped by on her was from Granite City, MN to Fort Worth, TX. You are her played on the floor, chatted, and you enjoyed her “coughing” sounds. These seem to crack you up.Hopefully we will get more opportunities to hang out with her as well as some of my other close friends who are spread out across the US.
Trip to South Dakota
Last year during this trip we found our we were pregnant! This year we toted you up to Mobridge, South Dakota in your car seat…bunny in hand. This would be your first real long car ride and your daddy and I were a bit nervous. Lately you have been showing some not so pleasant feelings toward your carseat and car rides in general.

We left at 8:30 that morning after Grete continued her journey back to Texas. Overall, you were pretty pleasant on the trip. We enjoyed lunch on the grass in Brookings and stopped occasionally to change your diaper, feed you, or just get you some fresh air.

We rolled in around 5:00 where you were greeted by grandma, grandpa, great grandma, great grandpa, and a new face, your great uncle Shane (who you admired all his silly voices and singing throughout the weekend).

We also met your great aunt Wendy and great uncle Mike. They had their daughter Brenna’s 5-week old beautiful little girl with them. She was so sweet and quiet! You were both smothered with lots of love all weekend!

This is the perfect time to inform you of your nickname. Great grandpa Sharpe gives us all nicknames. Mine was Jenny-Pooh (I still cringe…haha) and your uncle’s was Freight Train Blaine! And yours is a bit more creative….The TOE. This makes me smile every time I hear it. You see, your feet were/are very long. You have your daddy’s toes which seem to be more like fingers than toes really. It doesn’t help your cause that your are extremely squirmy and flex and point your toes and are attempting to “crawl”. Grandpa was convinced if you dig those toes in the carpet you’d be mobile J . So…enjoy this nickname; it will probably stick with you for the rest of your life.

4 Generations!

Grandma and Grandpa with their 3 kids!

Taking over Great Grandpa Bud's chair!! Uh oh!

Adorable

4th of July
You sported your adorable American flag romper, red bow, and flag sunglasses on Independence Day. We watched the Mobridge parade and cheered on great grandpa as he zipped on by on his scooter with his fellow Shriners. No candy for you this year….next year…papa will make sure of it…I am pretty sure he will use you for bait to rack up his candy stock!

Look at Great Grandpa GO! He did a wonderful job in the parade!

More South Dakota Fun!
Checking out the Purple Martins with Grandma!
Hanging out with Great Grandma Dee!

And just because....here is some extra cuteness :)

Hopefully, our next post will be up sooner than later!
We LOVE you to the moon and back...then once more around :)
